About the Role
CBM is seeking a Team Manager for Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Adaptation (MERLA) to lead the organization’s MERLA functions within its Programmes sector. This role is critical in ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of CBM’s global initiatives. The position will be based in one of CBM’s established offices in Africa, such as Nairobi (Kenya), Abuja (Nigeria), Lomé (Togo), or other locations. Local employment conditions will apply, and expatriation is not intended.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in MERLA, overseeing data collection, analysis, reporting, and knowledge-sharing processes.
- Develop and implement MERLA frameworks, tools, and methodologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Integrate MERLA into programme design, implementation, and decision-making processes.
- Design and manage monitoring and evaluation systems to assess programme performance and impact.
- Lead CBM’s MERLA community of practice, promoting best practices and innovations in measurement methods.
- Build MERLA capacity across CBM staff and partners through training and technical guidance.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing MERLA team.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in international development, public health, social sciences, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in MERLA methodologies, tools, and practices.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in team management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in data analysis software.
- Knowledge of disability and development issues.
- Experience in designing and implementing MERLA frameworks in learning contexts.
- Familiarity with grant proposal development, including technical proposals.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Alignment with CBM’s Christian values and mission.
