The Nigerian Youth Futures Fund Youth Leadership Development Programme 2025 is now accepting applications, and it’s designed to empower young leaders like you to drive impactful change.
Programme Focus Areas
The 2025 cohort will focus on two key thematic areas. Applicants are encouraged to submit a project proposal under one of the following:
1. Facilitating Good Governance
Transparency & Accountability in Governance: Do you have a project idea that encourages your community to demand accountability from leaders?
- Voter Education: With the 2027 national elections approaching, how can you educate your community about their voting rights and improve election processes at the student or local level?
- National Policy Engagement: Are you aware of the National Youth Policy? What reforms can you advocate for, and how can you influence policies within your school or community?
- Social Media Advocacy: How can you leverage digital platforms to amplify governance issues and ensure student voices are heard in university administration and national policy decisions?
2. Resolving Fundamental National Questions
Group Conflict Resolution & Peacebuilding: Do you have a project that promotes unity and resolves conflicts in your community?
- Gender & Social Inclusion: Can your idea advocate for inclusive policies on your campus or in your chosen community?
- Civic Rights Awareness: How can your project empower community members to understand and defend their rights, especially students facing injustice?

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Be an undergraduate student at any Nigerian tertiary institution.
- Be available to fully participate in the 5-month programme.
- Commit to at least 85% participation throughout the programme.
- Have access to a working mobile phone or computer and stable internet.
- Provide proof of studentship (e.g., course form or ID card).
- Be open to travel during the programme (academic commitments will be considered).
- Complete 10 compulsory virtual courses before proceeding to your chosen track.
