Role Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll lead the development of our data infrastructure from the ground up. You’ll design robust pipelines, integrate diverse datasets, and empower data scientists and analysts to drive life-saving decisions. This role combines technical mastery with leadership, offering a chance to shape the future of healthcare technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Build & Scale Data Systems: Architect and manage a secure, high-performance data warehouse and pipelines for IoT, transactional, and partner datasets.
- Optimize Integrations: Collaborate with backend teams to streamline data workflows across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs.
- Governance & Security: Implement data quality frameworks, geo-tagging protocols, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Tooling & Innovation: Manage Databricks environments, automate ETL/ELT processes, and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) to future-proof our stack.
- Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, foster cross-functional collaboration, and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Who You Are
- Technical Expert: Proficient in Python, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and distributed computing tools (Spark, EMR).
- Data Architect: Skilled in data modeling, workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Problem Solver: Adept at balancing scalability, security, and performance in complex systems.
- Collaborative Leader: Strong communicator who thrives in agile environments and champions data governance best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ Years: Hands-on experience building data warehouses, pipelines, and cloud-native solutions.
- 3+ Years: Designing architectures on AWS/GCP.
- 1+ Year: Leading technical teams or projects.
- Bonus Skills: IoT data integration, NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Cassandra), Looker/Tableau, or global health/Supply Chain domain knowledge.
