Care Best Initiative (CBI) is a woman-led, youth-driven Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in Nigeria. Established in 2019, CBI is dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, including children, women, people with disabilities, and communities affected by crises. The organization operates across multiple states in Nigeria, focusing on sectors such as health, education, nutrition, protection, and water sanitation.
CBI is currently seeking a Partnership Officer to join its team in Abuja. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining strategic relationships with donors, government agencies, private sector partners, and civil society organizations.
Role Overview
The Partnership Officer will:
- Identify and establish partnerships with key stakeholders, including donors, government bodies, and NGOs.
- Represent CBI at meetings, forums, and working groups to enhance the organization’s visibility.
- Develop strategies to strengthen CBI’s credibility and positioning within humanitarian and development networks.
- Facilitate the creation of formal agreements, such as Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
- Collaborate with program teams to align partnership efforts with organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between CBI and its partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Support fundraising efforts by identifying potential funding sources and working with the Grants Officer.
- Advocate for CBI’s programs in external engagements and provide technical support to staff on partnership management.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, government agencies, and private sector organizations.
- Identify partnership opportunities and draft collaboration frameworks.
Advocacy and Representation:
- Represent CBI in high-level meetings and forums.
- Advocate for CBI’s mission and programs in external engagements.
Fundraising Support:
- Collaborate with the Grants Officer to secure donor funding.
- Monitor donor priorities and funding trends.
Capacity Building:
- Provide training to staff on partnership engagement and donor relations.
- Document best practices and ensure alignment with CBI’s strategic plan.
Team Management:
- Foster a collaborative work environment and provide mentorship to team members.
- Oversee performance management and professional development within the partnership team.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
- Professional certification in Stakeholder Engagement or Partnership Management is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in partnership development, donor relations, or stakeholder engagement, preferably within an NGO or development organization.
- Proven experience in drafting MoUs and managing multi-sectoral partnerships.
Skills:
- Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in English.
