Job Opportunity: External Auditors at New Incentives – All Babies Are Equal Initiative (NI-ABAE)

New Incentives – All Babies Are Equal Initiative (NI-ABAE) is seeking External Auditors to join our team across multiple locations, including Kebbi, Jigawa, Bauchi, Yobe, Niger, and beyond. About the Role
As an External Auditor, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of NI-ABAE’s operations. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough disbursement audits, identifying potential fraud, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires frequent fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethics and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Protocol and Operations Audit (40%)
- Conduct on-site disbursement audits at least 4 days per week.
- Evaluate staff compliance with organizational policies and program implementation guidelines.
- Gather feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders to identify operational gaps and areas for improvement.
- Perform confidential investigations into specific employees or operational areas as needed.
- Review and report on adherence to immunization procedures, cash management protocols, and other program activities.
- Collaborate with Senior Auditors to complete investigations and audits promptly.
2. Fraud Identification and Investigation (30%)
- Conduct interviews with staff and stakeholders to uncover fraudulent activities and assess financial losses.
- Analyze documents, dashboards, and data to identify inconsistencies or irregularities in organizational records.
- Maintain detailed reports of all audits and investigations.
- Implement strategies to mitigate fraud risks and strengthen internal controls.
- Make a minimum of 80 audit-related expense verification calls weekly.
3. Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement (30%)
- Monitor the implementation of conditional cash transfer programs to ensure compliance with donor regulations.
- Ensure NI-ABAE operations align with Nigerian laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Review compliance across various protocols, including cash disbursement, transportation safety, stakeholder engagement, and security reporting.
- Identify operational weaknesses and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Liaise with government agencies to secure necessary approvals and documentation.
- Gather evidence to support audit requirements and ensure the implementation of audit recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CFE, or CA are a plus.
- 1–2 years of experience in auditing, compliance, or fraud investigation.
- Prior experience working with non-profits, charitable organizations, or (I)NGOs is preferred.
- Familiarity with audit software is an advantage.

- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written); proficiency in Hausa and local dialects is required.

Language Requirements
Fluency in English (reading, writing, and conversation) is mandatory.
Proficiency in Hausa (reading and conversation) is required. Knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage.
