Job Overview:

The Director of the French Alliance in Port Harcourt will operate under the guidance of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Advisor and the Board of Directors. This role is pivotal in executing the establishment’s strategic goals, fostering cultural exchange, and expanding the reach of French language education and cultural activities in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:

• Develop and propose strategies to enhance the establishment’s growth, with a focus on expanding online French courses.
• Identify and engage new audiences, particularly within corporate sectors.
• Strengthen partnerships with higher education institutions to promote French language education (FLE).

Cultural Programming:

• Organize and oversee approximately 15 annual cultural events, alongside weekly film screenings.
• Build and maintain relationships with local artists and cultural communities to ensure smooth collaboration.

Administrative and Financial Management:

• Assist in budget preparation and staff management.
• Implement monitoring and evaluation tools to track progress and performance.

Networking and Collaboration:

• Establish strong ties with local authorities, educational institutions, and French-speaking communities.
• Collaborate with French companies, such as the Total Group, and other francophone organizations in the region.

Reporting:

Prepare and submit regular activity reports to the Board of Directors, the French Alliance Foundation, and the Cultural Cooperation Advisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in managing public or private cultural institutions.
• Strong background in organizing cultural events and building partnerships.
• Knowledge of the local region and languages is an advantage.
