The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Programme Management Specialist – Education and Social Inclusion. This position is based in the UNAOC office in New York, USA. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team at UNOPS, supporting the implementation of critical education and social inclusion projects globally. The position is open to individuals who meet the following educational and experience requirements.

Education Requirements:
-
Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree or equivalent in international relations, international education, social science, human rights, public policy, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Or: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the same areas, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Work Experience Requirements:
-
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in project support or management with international organizations or international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Optional: Knowledge of international relations, particularly related to the United Nations, cross-cultural dialogue, international education, youth issues, gender, and related fields.

IT proficiency and familiarity with platforms supporting digital innovation and data-driven decision-making.

Proven expertise in data analytics, digital innovation, foresight methodologies, or organizational culture change is desirable.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.

Knowledge of other UN working languages is a plus.

Supervision: Directly supervised by the UNAOC Director, with coordination by the Chief of the Programming Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Design, develop, and implement projects related to education and social inclusion in line with UNAOC’s strategic priorities.
-
Conduct needs assessments and consultations to identify project opportunities.
-
Draft project proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.
-
Monitor project implementation to ensure timely and efficient delivery of activities.
-
Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to ensure effective project outcomes.
-
Prepare progress reports, donor reports, and briefing notes.
-
Organize training sessions, workshops, and seminars to build the capacity of youth, educators, and community leaders.
-
Pursue resource mobilization opportunities and establish partnerships with donors and sponsors.
