Job Opportunity: Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Athlete Education Programme Project Coordinator (in Switzerland)

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is offering a unique opportunity for a dynamic and experienced professional to join its Athletes Department as a Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Athlete Education Programme Project Coordinator. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, this 18-month fixed-term position is an excellent chance to contribute to the Olympic Movement and support young athletes on their journey to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
About the Role
The IOC is dedicated to promoting excellence in sports and fostering international collaboration. This role is crucial in delivering a meaningful Athlete Education Programme for young competitors and their entourage. The selected candidate will coordinate key aspects of the programme to ensure all participating athletes benefit from impactful educational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Coordination and Delivery
- Oversee the education programme for athletes at Dakar 2026, ensuring seamless execution.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement local activities and content.
- Develop an athletes’ availability matrix to optimize education opportunities during their stay.
- Coordinate with the Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (YOGOC) for daily education activities and cultural engagement.
- Manage logistics, including the design and setup of athlete education areas.
Digital Education and Engagement
- Support the deployment of PinQuest, a digital tool for athlete engagement.
- Promote e-learning opportunities for athletes and their entourage via International Federations and National Olympic Committees.
On-Site Operations Preparation
- Organize resources for the Athlete Education team in the Youth Olympic Village.
- Prepare training materials for volunteers and operational teams.
- Coordinate volunteer planning with the YOGOC.
Olympic Agenda 2020+5 and General Support
- Contribute to the implementation of Olympic Agenda 2020+5, focusing on Recommendation 3.
- Assist with IOC engagement initiatives for Olympians and elite athletes.
- Support administrative duties, including meetings, reporting, and correspondence.
Who Should Apply?

- A bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience).
- A minimum of two years’ experience in sports administration or a related field.
- Fluency in English or French, with strong command of the other language.
- Proficiency in Office Suite applications.
