The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is seeking a National UN Volunteer (NUNV) Data Analyst to support the UReport initiative in India. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in data analysis, technology, and social policy to contribute to UNICEF’s mission of amplifying the voices of youth and communities. The position is based in New Delhi, India, for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply:

  • Candidates must be nationals or legal residents of India.
  • Must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in data analysis and report creation.
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Statistics, Economics, Social Policy Economics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English and Hindi.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Infogram, R, or Python.
  • Experience in creating dashboards for data analysis.
  • Ability to develop data-driven digital content such as reports, presentations, and infographics.
  • Understanding of big data, data warehousing, machine learning, and data sciences.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present findings effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The NUNV Data Analyst will work under the supervision of the Programme Specialist (Innovation) and contribute to the UReport program by performing the following tasks:

1. Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze U-Report data and compile reports for UNICEF programs, government partners, CSOs, and media.
  • Identify and develop U-Reporter stories for media publications.
  • Conceptualize infographics, flash presentations, and other information outputs.
  • Provide UReport dashboards and training to partners.
  • Manage and update partner dashboards.

2. Program Management:

  • Organize and maintain the U-Report Poll calendar.
  • Verify the recruitment details of U-Reporters to ensure data accuracy.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):

  • Adapt and implement the global U-Report M&E framework for India.
  • Design tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Generate reports to track progress on key performance indicators.

4. Website Management:

  • Ensure the U-Report India website is updated with the latest data and polls.
  • Make technical recommendations to enhance website functionality.
