Call for Papers: “Accelerating Climate Action in Asia – Fiscal Policy Solutions” Conference

Are you conducting research on climate change, fiscal policy, or green finance in Asia? The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), in collaboration with SOAS University of London, invites submissions for the upcoming conference and edited volume on “Accelerating Climate Action in Asia: Fiscal Policy Solutions.” The event will take place July 9–10, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan.
This call seeks original papers that propose innovative fiscal strategies to accelerate climate action across Asia and the Pacific, while also ensuring long-term economic and fiscal sustainability.
About the Conference and Volume
The challenge of addressing the climate crisis in Asia while maintaining fiscal health has never been more urgent. Governments in the region face escalating risks from global warming, extreme weather, and environmental degradation. As nations invest in resilient infrastructure, green technology, and sustainable development, they must balance these expenditures with the need to avoid excessive debt and preserve fiscal stability.
This conference and accompanying edited volume will bring together research that uncovers effective fiscal policy mechanisms to address climate-related challenges. While a global perspective is welcomed, papers focused on Asia and the Pacific are especially encouraged.
