Call for Applications: Public Intellectuals Program Ninth Cohort (2025-2027)

The National Committee on United States-China Relations is pleased to announce the ninth round of its Public Intellectuals Program (PIP), generously funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. This two-year initiative aims to nurture the next generation of American China scholars and specialists by deepening their understanding of U.S.-China policymaking, fostering valuable professional connections, and equipping them to engage with the public on critical issues.
Program Highlights:
From Summer 2025 to Spring 2027, PIP IX will include:
- Seminars in Washington, D.C. and the West Coast.
- A study tour to Asia.
- Opportunities to participate in public education initiatives and National Committee delegations.
Fellows will benefit from mentorship by senior scholars, networking opportunities, and media training to enhance public outreach capabilities.
Eligibility:
- Open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 32–46.
- Academics must hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, JD) and have expertise on China.
- Professionals must have significant China-related experience.
Commitments:
Fellows will participate in workshops, a study tour, and execute a public education program with up to $1,250 funding support.
