Abiodun Alamutu, will retire on Monday, December 9, 2024
Reflecting on his time in service, Alamutu thanked colleagues and stakeholders for their support, seeking similar cooperation for his successor.
He remarked, “I deeply appreciate the unwavering support and commitment shown by my colleagues, community leaders, and citizens throughout my administration.
“As I bow out, I encourage everyone to continue fostering collaboration with the incoming leadership to further strengthen the security framework of our state.”
A pull-out parade to mark his retirement will take place at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.
This is according to a Saturday statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, shared on X.
“The event will be followed by a reception for guests at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta,” it read.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola in a statement indicated a retirement parade to honour the super cop will take place at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan Abeokuta.
The statement added, “The reception will follow at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
“On behalf of CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha psc, he has asked me to express his gratitude for your dedication and support during his tenure as CP Ogun.
“As he steps into retirement, he hopes you will extend the same level of support to his successor.
“Thank you for your contributions, and here’s to more successes together,” the statement further indicated.
Recall Alamutu’s appointment as Ogun CP was announced on Saturday July 1,2023.
He was the 36th commissioner of police in the state as he took over from AIG Olanrewaju Oladimeji.
He was appointed into the prestigious Nigeria Police Force on the 18th of May 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police Course three at the Nigeria Police Academy Kaduna between 1992 and 1994 he holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lagos State University.
He proceeded to Gwoza Maiduguri in 1993 for Police Mobile Force, Anti riot and Tactical maneuvering training. Later that year he participated in the Citizenship and Leadership Course in Jos. In 1995 he was in Lagos State for Executive traffic management Course.
Alamutu has attended several development courses as stipulated by the Nigeria Police.
